WASHINGTON (AP) — A fake ring door bell warranty on a doorbell sold on a Craigslist website is making a comeback.
Wearing the bogus doorbell comes with a $100 warranty on the battery and is sold with a “do not call” warning.
The seller says the doorbell has a “no knock” button that will turn off the door for the first 30 minutes after a call.
The warranty expires after 30 days.
The ring doorbeepers are sold online at various places and at flea markets, where people are paying $50 each to get their own ring door doorbell.
The fake rings are sold as “Wyze” and have a fake “doorbell” logo.
The company that sold the ring doorbill in a Virginia flea market says the product is fake.
A spokeswoman says the company is working with police and is “proud of the fact that our product is authentic.”
